Although the drink of choice in Istanbul is tea, coffee has had a huge influence on the city. It's been said the world's first coffee shop, Kiva Han, open there in 1475. To this day a thick, strong cup of coffee is as easy to get in the city as a can of Coke is in Atlanta.
